R. Clay Milling Clay is a native of New Orleans, Louisiana. He graduated from Vanderbilt University in 1988 with a degree in Economics, then continued his studies at Vanderbilt University School of Law, graduating in 1991. He was one of only a few students in his law school class to be selected as a member of both Vanderbilt's Moot Court Board and Vanderbilt's Journal of Transnational Law. He began his practice in Atlanta with the nationally known firm of Alston & Bird, where he concentrated in the areas of complex medical malpractice and products liability defense. After leaving that firm in early 1996, he has limited his practice solely to representing individuals and families in catastrophic injury and wrongful death cases. Clay is active in professional organizations on both a local and national level. Locally he has chaired the Continuing Education Committee and the Brief Bank Committee for the Georgia Trial Lawyers Association. In addition, he is past chairman of the Civil Justice PAC, which grew to become the largest political action committee in the State of Georgia under his leadership. On a national level, Clay serves as a member of both the Key Persons Committee and the ATLA - PAC Committee for the Association of Trial Lawyers of America. Clay is an instrument rated private pilot and enjoys aviation in his free time. He concentrates his practice in the areas of medical malpractice, products liability and aviation law.
